Just saw Munich...it's worthy of a "C." Spielberg...dunno...maybe he's lost his touch.

I was just completely indifferent emotionally and it was long...it had some reallllllyy odd montages too...

for instance, as one critic put it...

"After a false ending that clumsily mixes sex, anguish and bloodshed into a colossally embarrassing scene of lovemaking between Avner and his wife, the film peters out with yet another debate..."

Well, sounds like - a hunch here - it's the terrible work of Kushner "humanizing" a story. Spielberg was quoted as saying he chose Kushner "to humanize" the story and when I read that, I knew there would be a big problem. Kushner's "humanizing" is the antithesis of what the average person -- me included -- regards as so.

As I wrote earlier (to you, justaguy), I'm no fan of Kushner's writing, realities, perspectives and politics and I can't understand what the appeal was to even affiliate him with MUNICH. It suggests a trend-over-reality approach on the film and it's offputting, and, this degree of anti-humanizing has undoubtedly also created/contributed to the suspicions and lack of commitment many among audience perceive as to this film: something's grabbing people of a myriad type and association in the same way about the film and that is a high degree of insincerity. I'd say that's the "humanizing" effect rendered by someone who applies quite the opposite to that and calls it thus (which equals, insincerity, disbelief, lack of audience comfort and then other subtleties of discomfort are applied afterward, to equal a "bad film" in the perceptions of many).

Shame, because Spielberg is, to state the obvious, a superb director, as to those dedicated skills and abilities.

I haven't a clue how Kushner has made it thus far in the industry.

The fact that he's said that he "hates the United States" (might of been ..."America...") is a good indication of why he's 'popular' among certain audiences, and it's very easy to deduce who his audience is, based upon what he's written, such as it's been.
