SITE UPDATE: PUBLISHING CHANGES UNDERWAY
I am beginning a change tomorrow in publishing platform from Movable Type 4.1 to Word Press.
Thus, if there should be a few delays in site access tomorrow, the reason is tomorrow's scheduled publishing platform change.
I'll launch a basic, functional layout to resume publishing soon after the WP change tomorrow and then redesign the place over time afterward, so publishing should resume by Thursday with an interim site appearance.
My chief complaints about Movable Type (though current edition of 4.1 is much more improved than previous) is that there are multiple, frequent-as-breath, protracted publishing delays and errors (MT runs these "automatic saves" with such frequency that the process interferes continually with changes to posts, updates to post settings, etc., any changes to posts that require republishing afterward to take effect). And, that I'm very much displeased with Movable Type's last two emailed newsletters, the latest of which touts the website of Barack Obama and their product.
Thus, it has become a relationship (Movable Type and my site) that I'd like to conclude, so, here comes Word Press tomorrow and then modest site redesign afterward.
If you encounter any broken links, please visit my main index page ("home" at www.suzyrice.com/BIRD) to check for the post title that you're seeking (investigage "archives" from the main page).
However, as to the archived content, things should be in order after the change to WP, so my excellent webhost advises me. And please notify this site (email here) if you encounter any broken links or problems afterward. I'll appreciate any heads-up.
And about my excellent webhost, I'd like to take this opportunity to again tout the professionalism, expertise, wonderful customer service, and reliable home that my host, LivingDot, provides this website. I cannot speak highly enough of LivingDot and urge anyone who wants a terrific host for their website to seek out space from LivingDot. They have never failed to provide me with more than I expect, be very, very nice in doing so and respond immediately to even the most unsophisticated of inquiries from me as I've worked my way through administering my own website. I had to stumble my way through a few failed-host experiences before I found LivingDot, so my hope is that this referral to LivingDot might save others the same bad experiences and time-consuming moves that I underwent when this site first launched.
