FATHEAD OBAMA

Barack Obama is lying to Virginia voters today about the future of Medicare, about John McCain's goals for the future of Medicare and about Obama's lack of ethics about Medicare (and about lying).

But he's not lying about pie! He loves pie! He tells crowds everywhere that he loves pie. He loves pie so much, he mentions pie sometimes thirteen times in one speech, even when people are losing their jobs, their homes, have lost their savings, Obama loves pie! Financial crises...but what about pie?!

From his suffering dive circumstances while lodged at Catholic Charities' donors' expense at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel ("hotels of the rich and famous") in New York City this past Wednesday...

...Michelle Obama called room service and ordered lobster hors d'oeuvres, two whole steamed lobsters, Iranian caviar and champagne...

He needs all that luxury so he has the strength to lie about McCain and Medicare before voters in Virginia and talk about more pie.

Castro Backs Hillary (& Obama) for the White House

...He said that the candidates from both parties will see Florida as a prize that needed to be won, and that a policy for Cuba was necessary to attract voters.

"The State of Florida is the prize everyone aspires to, because of the Presidential votes it provides."

HERO AND NO HERO

Dot-Red-SML.gif Congressman Sam Johnson, Republican, 3rd District of Texas

A real American hero.

Wingflap, gawfer.

However, by contrast:

Dot-Blue-SML.gif Jack Murtha, no hero.

Dot-Red-SML.gif From Sweetness & Light:

"...we hear this today, via the terrorist enablers at Reuters:"

"Murtha Touts Way to Choke Off Iraq War"

"They won't be able to continue. They won't be able to do the deployment. They won't have the equipment, they don't have the training and they won't be able to do the work. There's no question in my mind," the Pennsylvania Democrat said.

Murtha, an ex-Marine in his 18th term, made his remarks in a webcast on movecongress.org, which hopes to influence Congress to stop the war in Iraq.

Also, from Sweetness & Light:

-- "Murtha Tells Moveon He Will 'Force Redeployment'"

-- the MoveOn video with Murtha's statements

-- the ABSCAM Video (undercover investigation of John Murtha who is captured discussing accepting bribes, never declines accepting, suggests pending acceptance);

-- Many Murtha news links...

and, VOTE COUNT: "The 17 Republicans Who Voted For Defeat In Iraq"..."Only two Democrats in the House stood with our country and our soldiers in Iraq...Representative Jim Marshall (GA) (and) Representative Gene Taylor (MS)."

Dot-Red-SML.gif ABSCAM video link among many other articles regarding John Murtha was posted here in BIRD on November 12, 2006, "PELOSI PUTS WEIGHT BEHIND MURTHA IN LEADER BID", and in November 09, 2006, "JOHN MURTHA AND NANCY PELOSI: CORRUPTION OVERTAKES THE CONGRESS".

"Pelosi: No Harm, No Foul" -- Nancy Pelosi returns from a four-day trip to Iraq and Afghanistan to discover a black bird has been occupying her Georgetown home in her abscence, while discovering that her trip abroad has done little to nothing to improve her literary skills.

Pelosi spokesman Brendan Daly said the Speaker described the animal as "a little black bird" and that "she kept thinking to herself, 'Quoth the Raven, 'nevermore.'"

Meanwhile, "Democrat clerks caught on tape looking through GOP drawers" -- Democrat clerks in the U.S. House of Representatives discovered to have burglarized Republican "drawers" and the media worries about Nancy Pelosi's uninvited bird visit with nary a peep about the Democrat burglers in the House.

The Republican leader in the house is demanding two clerks who work for the Democrats be fired. The men are accused of rifling through a Republican clerk's desk and re-moving documents.

...Republican Clerk Juliana Simone has been asked by the police not to speak about the incident, but the Legislative Office Building's surveillance cameras have apparently captured images of two Democratic state senate clerks going through her desk and taking things

Rep. Larry Cafero, the Republican leader in House, has seen the tape and says the six minute incident is harassment.

"This was not a prank, there was no laughter among the participants, there was a seriousness of purpose," he said. "What their purpose was I do not know. Who directed them to do this, I do not know, but it certainly, in my view was not a prank.

PELOSI DEMASKED

From the (Robert) Evans-Novak Political Report (January 10, 2007), the following observation approaches what is very likely to be what the "new Democrat majority" in our U.S. Congress is all about, and, describes well what imprudent use of chaotic governmental process (and our government, too, to state the obvious) is all about:

100-Hour Agenda:
Democrats' attempt to implement their "first 100 hours" agenda has had mixed results so far, with some successes but a few bloopers as well.

Ethics Reform:
The Democrats' House ethics reform hit a snag with their prohibition of travel by members on corporate jets. The new rule bans travel on non-governmental planes that are not licensed by the FAA for commercial air travel. The problem is that the FAA does not license planes for commercial air travel -- only pilots. The way the rule is written, members of Congress would literally be forbidden from flying on any commercial flight as well as any corporate jets. Republicans pointed to this difficulty as a result of Democrats' failing to put any of their "100 hour" legislation through the committee process.

Meanwhile, Senate Democrats are not following their House counterparts in enacting a ban on Senator'' flying on corporate jets. The main concerns are that the provision could make re-election more difficult for many incumbents. As a compromise, their package makes such travel much more expensive for senators by requiring them to pay a charter rate.

Republicans can complain about Democrats' breaking promises on this issue, or on the issue of implementing all of the 9/11 Commission's recommendations. But they will make very little headway in this way, simply because the Democrats were not elected because of the promises they made. Democratic promises of 2006 were not like the 1994 "Contract with America," in that they had little to do with Democrats' success. They were basically an afterthought, a legislative agenda thrown together in the campaign's last days after it was already clear Democrats were going to take the House. Democrats won because of the Republicans' behavior -- something that will take extra time for Republicans to recover from.

A cursive moral here:
when you run from "corruption" you are likely to run into the arms of the corrupted unless you are sure where you are going.
